The Giver Quote

 Authors Note: I am writing about a quote from "The Giver".

What if you lived in a world where the people did not know anything except for the way to live chosen by the government? In "The Giver", by Lois Lowery, the main character Jonas finds out that his world is like this when The Giver tells him "It's not their fault, they know nothing" 

In the story, The Giver tells Jonas that "It's not their fault, they know nothing" when he finds out the truth about release. This quote is important because it shows the way the world is for Jonas. The  people really don't know anything, it was the way the people were taught to live and they know nothing else.

This quote is an important part to the story. If The Giver did not say this quote, readers wouldn't have much of an idea on why the people act the way they do.
